Last weekend, our very own Esther and Paul got married in the Quaker Meetinghouse in Nottingham. It was a lovely ceremony, held in the Quaker way. Like most Quakers, their ministry/ testament about how they want to live their lives together extended beyond the Meeting for Worship. For example, in the early morning of the 2nd of June, Esther, Paul and their guests boarded canal boats, followed by a tram to travel to the Meetinghouse.

The story was picked up by the local newspaper, The Nottingham Post. They first announced that this special journey to the wedding would take place:

Both of these articles include a video, some pictures and an interview with the bride and groom. Hopefully, reading about them will inspire many people (Q and non-Q) to look for sustainable ways of travel to their own special events :).

Letztes Wochenende haben die EMEYFer Esther und Paul im Quaker Meetinghouse in Nottingham geheiratet. Es war eine schöne Zeremonie, die nach Art der Quäker abgehalten wurde. Wie bei die meisten Quäkern erstreckte sich Esther und Pauls ihr Zeugnis darüber, wie sie ihr Leben zusammen leben wollen, über die Andacht hinaus. Am frühen Morgen des 2. Juni bestiegen Esther, Paul und ihre Gäste Kanalboote, gefolgt von einer Straßenbahn, um zum Meetinghouse zu fahren.

Die Geschichte wurde von der Lokalzeitung, The Nottingham Post, aufgegriffen. Sie kündigten zuerst an, dass diese besondere Reise zur Hochzeit stattfinden würde:
