It was my first time at a Nominations Committee. It was a bit nerve wracking, when I was asked to approach people to find out whether they are willing and able to commit to a job they were suggested for. Especially if it were people I never have talked to before. The person I approached was so lovely and open that it reassured me that it its OK to approach people, and it was a lot easier than I expected. I was taking a role for the community, not speaking to the person personally, but as a member of Nominations Committee. (Ash)
Ich war sehr aufgeregt, als ich für den Benennungsausschuss vorgeschlagen wurde und habe mich auch sehr darüber gefreut. Aber ich hatte auch Zweifel, da ich noch keine genaue Vorstellung davon hatte, wie dieser Prozess aussehen würde. Mir hat sehr geholfen das Gefühl zu haben, dass die Gruppe mir das zutraut. Die anderen Mitglieder des Benennungs-Ausschusses haben mir alle Fragen beantwortet, das hat mich sehr unterstützt. Die Arbeit im Benennungsausschuss ist eine gute Gelegenheit, zu verstehen wie EMEYF aufgebaut ist und welche Verantwortlichkeiten es gibt. Und man lernt die Leute besser kennen: sowohl die Personen, mit denen man im Benennungsausschuss zusammenarbeitet, als auch die Menschen bei EMEYF insgesamt. (Margareta)
I was very excited when I was nominated for the Nominations Committee, and I was very happy about it. But I also had doubts as I didn’t have a clear idea of what the process would look like. It helped me a lot to have the feeling that the group had confidence in me. The other members of the Nominations Committee answered all my questions, which was very supportive. Working on the Nomination Committee is a good opportunity to understand how EMEYF is organised and what responsibilities there are. And you get to know the people better: both the people you work with on the Nominations Committee and the people at EMEYF as a whole. (Margareta)
