The Quaker Council for European Affairs works to bring a vision based on the Quaker commitment to peace, justice and equality to Europe and its institutions.
Mone is our EMEYF-representative to QCEA. She reports from her stay in Quaker House Brussels:
“Once again overwhelmed by the astonishing beauty of Quaker House, I feel like a time traveller back to a past, that is long gone. At the very same moment, we are envisioning how we can bring our core values to the political heart of the EU.
The spiritual presence of the new Quaker in Residence, Janice Thomson, is holding us in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, while we are also facing the dark downsides of our time.
A poster, she found in a cupboard in this magical place, reminds us: “Simplicity, stillness, truth, peace, sustainability, equality… In turbulent times… Be a Quaker!” How can we offer our gifts to the world? What is needed now, here, and by these people?
