Welche Ämter werden vergeben?
Beim Frühlingstreffen 2024 sucht EMEYF (European and Middle East Young Friends) nach Personen für folgende Aufgaben:
- Delegierte:r für EMES (European and Middle East Section)
- Zwei Delegierte für QCEA (Quaker Council for European Affairs)
- Planungsgruppe für das Frühlingstreffen 2025, ca. 5-6 Personen
- Co-Schreiber:in
Wie kommen Namensvorschläge für die Ernennungen zustande?
Vor Ort wird eine Box (siehe unteres Foto) aufgestellt, in die alle Personen aus der EMEYF-Gemeinschaft ihre Vorschläge einwerfen können. (Man darf sich auch selbst vorschlagen.)
Wie wird über die Ernennungen entschieden?
1. Der Benennungsausschuss schaut sich die Vorschläge an.
2. Die vorgeschlagenen Personen werden gefragt, ob sie das Amt übernehmen wollen und können.
3. Der Benennungsausschuss überlegt in andächtiger Stimmung, wer für welches Amt benannt werden soll.
4. In der Geschäftsandacht wird endgültig über die Vergabe des Amtes entschieden.
Dieser Prozess wird vertraulich behandelt, da Kommentare von anderen Mitgliedern der Gemeinschaft sich auf die Entscheidungen der Nominierten auswirken könnten.
Wie entsteht der Benennungsausschuss?
In der ersten Geschäftsandacht wurden aus der Gemeinschaft einige Personen vorgeschlagen, die für die Dauer dieses Treffens den Benennungsausschuss bilden (siehe oberes Foto). Sie werden von den Ältesten unterstützt. Die Ältesten sind Personen, die die ganze EMEYF-Gemeinschaft in besonderer Verantwortung seelisch und emotional unterstützen.

Nominations and appointments
What roles are we nominating for?
At the Spring Gathering 2024 EMEYF (European and Middle East Young Friends) is looking for people for the following roles:
– Representative for EMES (European and Middle East Section)
– Two representatives for QCEA (Quaker Council for European Affairs)
– Planning group for the Spring Gathering 2025, approx. 5-6 people
– Co-Clerk
How do we find names for these roles?
A box (see second photo) will be set up on site, into which all people from the EMEYF community can put their suggestions. (You can also nominate yourself).
How are the nominations decided?
1. The nominations committee looks at the name suggestions.
2. The people who were suggested are asked whether they would be willing and able to take on the role.
3. The nominations committee discerns in a spirit of worship whose names they will bring to business meeting for discernment.
4. A final decision on who is appointed to the role is reached during the meeting for worship for business.
This entire process is confidential, partly because comments from other members of the community could influence the decisions of the nominees.
How is the nomination committee formed?
At the first business meeting for worship, a number of people from the community were nominated to form the Nominations Committee for the duration of this meeting (see first photo). They will be supported by the elders. The elders are people who carry a special responsibility for emotional and spiritual support within the EMEYF community.
