Wenn nicht jetzt, wann dann?

Darüber wurde heute bei uns diskutiert. Arne Springorum (Foto) hat bei uns einen Vortrag darüber gehalten, wie wir die Natur schützen können und warum wir es müssen.

Dabei wurde sehr deutlich, dass wir schnell etwas unternehmen sollten, weil es sonst unabsehbare Konsequenzen mit sich bringen wird.

Den Klimawandel kann man sehen wie einen schnellen Güterzug. Dieser kann nicht einfach anhalten, sondern braucht einen langen Bremsweg. Genauso ist es mit dem Klimawandel – er wird nicht einfach aufhören, sondern wir sollten so früh wie möglich anfangen ihn zu bremsen, weil sonst der Zug durch den Bahnhof hindurchfährt.

Und dafür können wir alle etwas tun! Zum Beispiel lieber zu Fuß zum Bäcker laufen, seinen Müll trennen oder Sachen wie Spielzeug, Kleidung und Schuhe tauschen statt kaufen. Ihr seht, dass ihr nicht immer Geld dafür ausgeben müsst, sondern einfach euren Alltag minimal umgestalten könnt. Auch wenn das nach wenig aussieht, ist es doch besser als nichts!

Aber natürlich kann man umweltfreundlichere Stromanbieter unterstützen, Lebensmittel in Bio und Fairtrade kaufen oder das Bankkonto bei einer ökologisch orientierten Bank führen.

Außerdem ist es wichtig, auch bei Wahlen den Umweltschutz zu bedenken, auf Demonstrationen zu gehen und sich gesellschaftlich für Nachhaltigkeit zu engagieren!

Und natürlich kann man auch für Umwelt- und Naturschutzprojekte und Organisationen spenden oder dort mithelfen.

Ihr seht, es gibt viel zu tun, also packen wir es an!

If not now, then when?

We discussed this today. Arne Springorum (photo) gave us a presentation on how we can protect nature and why we have to.

It became very clear that we should do something quickly, because otherwise there will be unforeseeable consequences.

Climate change can be seen as a fast goods train. It can’t just stop, it needs a long braking distance. It’s the same with climate change – it won’t just stop, but we should start slowing it down as soon as possible, because otherwise the train will pass through the station.

And we can all do something about it! For example, walking to the bakery, separating your rubbish or swapping things like toys, clothes and shoes instead of buying them. You can see that you don’t always have to spend money, but can simply make a minimal change to your everyday life. Even if it doesn’t seem like much, it’s better than nothing!

But of course you can support more environmentally friendly electricity providers, buy organic and Fairtrade food or keep your bank account with an ecologically orientated bank.

It is also important to consider environmental protection when voting, to go to demonstrations and to get socially involved in favour of sustainability!

And of course you can also donate to environmental and nature conservation projects and organisations or help out there.
